Attendance USA Launches University Partnerships; New Book Now Available on Amazon

Attendance USA launched its University Partnership Model on September 1, 2026. The model invites colleges and universities to offer a 9-credit, three-course Certificate in Attendance Science™ and to earn designation as an Official Attendance USA™ Site.

The certificate stands alone or stacks into degrees in school counseling, educational leadership, social work, and school psychology. It is open to undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, community members, and executive leaders. The three courses build on one another:

  1. Course 1, Foundations of Attendance Science™: the four absence classifications and PSSB©, fully online and project based.
  2. Course 2, Assessment, Classification, and Intervention Design: the SALT model, the Tiered Attendance Threshold, and the Family Stability Index.
  3. Course 3, Policy, Equity, and Systems Leadership: the PRESENCE™ framework and state and federal attendance law.

Partner institutions price each course at their regular tuition rate and keep the tuition from two of the three courses. Graduates earn the nationally recognized Certified Attendance Professional™ credential. Founding partners receive national directory listing, co-branding rights, and a joint press release. A partner can move from signed agreement to a live course in about 8 to 10 weeks.

The launch arrives with a new book. Schools Spared Children Punished: Outsourced Education | How we got to Attendance Science™, by Dr. Carolyn Gentle-Genitty, is now available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle editions. The book traces how schools came to outsource the causes of absence to families and courts, and it lays out the Four Commitments that guide Attendance Science practice: classify before you consequence; measure the bond, not just the seat; respond with SALT, not enforcement first; and coordinate across every system touching the student.

The companion college textbook, Attendance Science: Theory, Measurement, and Practice, with an instructor manual, follows in October 2026.

“Every field needs a home in higher education. With these partnerships, Attendance Science now has one on campuses across the country.”
